Just wondering if anyone can tell me which one this is? It’s just got the 1 flower on it at the moment.

It looks a lot like my Hagley Hybrid.

I thought that too, but the flower looks a bit larger than those on the one I had.
      But it could be.
It was one of my best performing clematis as it flowered all summer long under my north facing porch.

I think it could be Hagley Hybrid too, right sort of pink.

Thank you for the replies, it does look like the Hagley one you’ve mentioned above although that says late summer flowering & this is flowering now! I’ve attached another photo for your interest! It’s got 2 flowers now. I wanted to know when to prune it, RHS says late winter if it is the Hagley one???

This is my Hagley Hybrid right now, if it is that, I chop mine right back each winter.

Ahh ok thank you ! I’d call that an early summer flowerer, that’s were I was confused as the RHS calls it a mid to late summer flowering variety. I do find their site difficult to work out as they don’t state actual months. Wonder if these are flowering now due to the warm dry weather & climate change?

If it is a Hagley it flowers on new stems but if you didn't prune it hard at the end of winter it will be more likely to behave like a group 2 and flower in May.

I suggest you give it a good, slow release feed of clematis, rose or tomato food as well as a liquid feed of tomato food for instant boost. Once the flowers go over, prune them off and give it another liquid feed and it should flower again later in the season.

In autumn, give it a mulch of home made compost or spent compost form a pot or window box and then in late Feb to mid March, cut back the stems to about 9"/23cms high and give it slow release fertilser as above.

If you get a hot or prolonged dry spell, keep it watered as the large flowered clems are thirsty, hungry plants.

The clematis website I gave you above gives info on size, aspect, flowering times and pruning group and is a better source for info on clems as it lists hundreds of them, mostly with photos.

Oh that’s so kind of you Obelix-Vendee, I’m easily confused! It belongs to a friend who moved into a large garden not long ago and we are discovering what she has inherited, obviously the previous owner was a keen gardener but didn’t leave any information or labels on the plants. I doubt it was pruned this year as it’s quite big and bushy with just a couple of flowers so far.
