I have an old plastic round compost bin of about 3 - 4 feet tall and approximately a foot wide in diameter. Other than spuds i wonder if anybody has any suggestions for a vegetable crop to grow in there to make good use of its volume? I did think about artichokes but not sure how well they would get on in there to be honest...

Any thoughts or suggestions at all?

    Andy.

If it were still full of compost a pumpkin would have grown well in it, other than that the obvious ones are potatoes as you mention, sorry not much help I know..

Given the dimensions I'd suggest you grow something that grows down rather than up. Carrots, parsnips, leeks. If it's wood or plastic you could bore holes and plant strawberries or even tomatoes.
