Any ideas? Escaped from somewhere?

    A neigbour found this growing but what is it? I know it's not 'Giant Hogweed'....

    Any thoughts very very welcome !

    I have no idea except that it looks vaguely similar to a Castor Oil plant... I shall have a google for a while... [​IMG] [​IMG] I expect someone will have an answer later... [​IMG]

    The plant is a wild Datura.

    Is that the well known Thorn Apple?
    Never come across it myself, but it seems to be cropping up more and more.

    Just looked in google, it is the Datura stramonium.

    We saw it growing wild for the first time about 10 years ago while we were on holiday in Croatia. Have seen it quite a few times since elsewhere.

    Make yourself a nice cup of tea with it and you'll find yourself growing wild. Grr. Who needs Croatia
