Hi there, Alison_74, welcome to GC.

Quite vague about the identification, my first thoughts are Jack-in-the-hedge or ligularia. But I don't think it's either of those.

      Welcome to GC Alison. :)

It looks like bindweed to me. If it is then it will take over your garden. Don't try and pull it out, if the roots break off it will send up more shoots, it's best to use a systemic weedkiller on it.

Does it have a trailing or twining habit?

I think Madahhlia is spot on with Jack-in-the-hedge, or Garlic Mustard as it is also known (Alliaria petiolata).

Yep, it's Garlic Mustard, smell the bruised leaves :)

The bit that looks like bindweed is its seed leaves Sheal :)
