but ............. im stuck for the top bit which is like a claw  don't no what to used for that

reason i would like to DIY is i need another 5  .

Have you got a bigger picture? Can't really see it on that one. What are they called?
Do you mean the bit in the lower b&w pic, that the basket sits on?
Could you attach the basket to the pole directly?

Can you manage a bigger pic Catt?
How big across is the claw?
Looks like it's to hold a basket. Does the basket sit on the claw (that's what it looks like) or hang from it.
An alternative to a line prop might be a tent pole, camping shops may also have clamps to go round the pole that could be used to fasten things on. You'd probably need to find a place that does camping and caravan stuff, not one of the smaller Oswald Bailey high street shops.

hi its called a basket support post

tryed to make it bigger here goes [IMG]

the claw bit in the black and white pic supports the basket i think that evens the weight out a little not sure about attaching the basket straight to the pole might have to weld it on or something to which i would prob set me sel on fire

the claw measures approx 6 inches round

tent pole great idea thankyou would that be stronger than a line prop ?

Screw fix a wide shallow circular bowl to the post then sit your basket in it. The bowl would also act as a saucer for holding water.

A tent pole might do it, depends how thick the metal tube walls are. It would have to be one of the bigger diameter ones like they use in the larger frame tents or caravan awnings.
Ideally you need a pole with a screw thread in both ends, one for the spike one for the basket holder.
One possible way of fixing a basket would be to get 2 metal discs and a bolt that fits the thread in the pole, fit so that the basket is "sandwiched" between the two discs
