Hi Compost Marker there's a great plant called 'Tumbling Ted' (saponaria) which has masses of tiny pink flowers in summer.

I grew it years ago in my old alpine bed and I can honestly say it's a right beauty and another plus is that it is a hardy perennial.Hel.xxx.

There is a Kniphofia called Jenny, a Schizostylis and a Crocosmia.
    Ted is more difficult.

many thanks but how do you find out where to get these plants. Ive spent 2 hrs now tracking down via RHS where to get them only to find they dont do mail order and the mail order firms dont have the species. is there a simpler way to find these plants for sale via mail order?

if you have an ebay account there are a few of the plants listed on there. Some will be from private sellers but there are also some nurseries etc that list on there.

The 2 plants i gave you are both listed but as seeds as they are annuals.

I buy quite a few plants off ebay and although they are usually smaller specimens i've not had too much trouble.
