Can anybody identify this hardy Geranium?

To me anyway it is unusual in that it grows from a string of little orange coloured corms unlike any of my other various Geraniums.I can post a photo of the corms if this would help identification. It is a spreader without being a total thug and grows about 6 inches high. It flowers from memory about July, it certainly is not an early flowerer.
I have looked on the internet and cannot find anything similar. Thanks in advance

Thanks @Perki, had a look on the net re your suggestion and not sure the leaves are right. I grow literally dozens of hardy geraniums and none of them have this odd string of corms arrangement, they all are pretty much the same whereby you increase them by splitting or cuttings. I am intending to sell some pots of the “ mystery” geranium at my next charity plant sale and someone is bound to ask what variety they are….will look a right moron if I don’t know:roflol:.

Lol, you would be more than welcome as it is a good doer not fussed as to growing conditions and happily survives in our less than balmy climate up in Scotland. Perhaps not as cold as you but not a kick in the ar.e off it recently! Postage, however, might be a little prohibitive altho the corms don’t weigh much.

I can send a SASE whenever it gets to the point things won't freeze in the mail. And also enclose some money to pay for the corms. Please nudge me when you think that might work as it only takes about 1 week to get a letter to you with regular postage :)

            Thank you!!

hmm, I'd better look to see if I have any UK stamps left - do they expire? They would be from 2018...

Possibly Geranium sanguineum that grows from rhizomes?

Oh Lori, I didn’t realise you were being serious! The corms are completely dormant atm and I honestly don’t think they would come to any harm being in an envelope for a week or so. Most are about the size of a big pea. If you want me to send you some corms just pm me and I will give you my address to send an sae to. Really not fussed about sending me any money for the charities I collect for ( all animal charities). You like me have been long standing members of GC, you are welcome to some foc!

Could it be "Dilys"? Mine have small nobbly woody branches growing off them.

I think most/all Geranium sanguineums are rhizomatous.

Thanks @smallkernowgarden and @Nigel coad. I will post up a photo of the small corms tomorrow, maybe you could tell me if these are typical for sanguineum geraniums. Thanks

@CanadianLori, do you have a Permit to Import plant material as this is a requirement for receiving it into Canada. You would need to check well in advance but you may already have one in which case you can ignore this.
@hailbopp, geraniums do not grow from corms but rhizomes, which are the knobbly little structures you have described. They grow out horizontally from a plant stem and are how a plant can spread itself around.

I don’t think it is G. sanguineum @hailbopp, the leaves don’t match. Your plant has distinctively marbled leaves which look like those of the tuberous variety G. orientalitibeticum, but I could be totally wrong :). They are available at Kevock garden plants in Scotland.

Please forgive me if I upset you there @CanadianLori. That was the furthest thing from my mind. I only know that I could not send anything like that to my relatives in Australia and I know from my relatives in Canada that I cannot send things to them either. They live in Cobourg and Toronto.
