A couple of weeks ago I bought some leavington compost, it was on sale for the same price as last year, three bags for £12.
Couldn't help thinking that I had got a bit stronger than I was last year, the bags went in the car so easily.

Anyway, I looked at last years bag, guess what?
There wasn't as much in this years bags, as last years.

56 litres compared with 75 last year.
Now my maths aren't that good these days, but I make that a 34% increase in price from last year.
    Seems diabolical to me.

Dont think my wage rise was quite that big this year.:mad:

This is the favourite way of companies putting prices up stealthily, the price stays the same, but the amount decreases.

34% increase on compost though, that is taking the biscuit.

I found that the bags were smaller with nearly all the compost suppliers, I went to Wickes you can get 4x75ltr bags of compost for £10 it's quite good compost there was actually some discount on this as I got 20 bags, their bark chips are reasonable as well.:)
