Previous years I have used nematodes to control slugs but last year I don't think they really worked and I had to go back to using slug pellets though I kept them under cover of a cloche and picked up dead slugs and snails after. Even though its necessary to control the slugs, at least in the early stages of my veggie growing, I really don't like the idea of poisoning the food chain thus my previous choice to go for nematodes.

I wonder if anybody has tried Bayer slug bait though? (I only put the link in to show you all the product i mean by the way not as spam and if you were buying the product its currently cheaper in Amazon so...). But it looks like an interesting product because the slugs and snails apparently go underground to die so removing the risk to other wildlife like birds, frogs and hedgehogs and they bio degrade down to iron and phosphate.

Anybody used this one at all? Was it any good?
