Geezer went for a stroll yesterday and took some phone snaps.
If anyone ever fancies a walk around here, then please drop me a line. Maybe we could go around as a gang?

Sywell CP used to be one of our favourite areas for walking.Used to take our dog for walks round here when we lived in EB:smile:

Did you park in the rip off car park NG or did you park down the other end in the little lay by down the nature end?:snork:

We tend to walk/cycle more round Pitsford or along the Brampton Valley Way or up at Harrington Airfield or Summerleys Nature Reserve.

Thanks for the lovely photos and the trip down memory :snork:

PS,lost count of the number of times in the past I have run up those steps to the top of the dam but would struggle now:biggrin:

I think that if you can climb those steps, then you can definitely make it around the reservoir :snork:
I parked opposite the steps (near the pump house and shop). I noticed the new (?) car park up on the hill. I would imagine they are both rip off? £2.60
Harrington airfield would be a new one to me. Never heard of it.
My neighbour said I could cycle easily to Brampton along the railway line close to where I live :) My only concern is.....that the line is very busy

Yes NG you can start at the Northampton end of the BVW and cycle all the way to Market Harborough which is a distance of around 15 miles. If you don't fancy doing the whole lot in one go there are quiet a few points with car parks where you can start or finish and there are a couple of tunnels to go through as well but they get a bit spooky as they are long and dark:hate-shocked:

By the way,you don't actually go on the live line but the disused line which is a nice track but gets busy with walkers, cyclists and a few horses when the weather is decent. We have even walked parts of it when we have had a lot of snow.(very good workout )

There are also steam trains on parts of the old line and throughout parts of the year you can have a short ride on some of the trains.

If you want to cycle any of the BVW check with your Dr first if you have health problems because the ride is a slight incline all the way to MH but once you turn round you fly all the way back to Northampton:smile:

Oh right, so no trains on the track then? I was looking in Halfords for bike mirrors, but if its disused thats good.
I would only go as far as Brampton, because there is a pub there. I am sure I would cope with the hill if slight :)
Not sure I would like dark tunnels :help: ..... scarey.
So where is the airfield? I like planes :)

Edit: found the airfield. I think I have been there :)
