Feel sorry for anyone who has health problems but basically after last winter the reply has to be a resounding NO.

June has been a really good month temperature wise, but in main the humidity has remained fairly low here, today has been really humid, and about 29 C in the shade, which means a warm night I guess.

I think the warmest night up to now has been around 18C in my neck of the woods, not excessive really.

Indeed Pete, after winter, a warm summer is more than welcome, it's essential!

It was hot here today, even in the shade, but isn't it bliss to be sitting outside, enjoying the evenings, even at this time of night? And yes, night temperatures are bearable.

So I am also happy to say, NO I'll pass on the rain for another couple of weeks thanks. Once schools break up the weather will go pear shaped, as it always does!

Too true, just got in from watering the garden, its cooler at the moment. Thing that made it rain last year was me taking the roof off. As soon as I started to strip it, the heavens opened, every time I took the tarp off it rained again. Should have taken 3 weeks, took 2 months, nearly finished it, then we all got swine flu, during which time a storm took half of it off again.

Starting phase 2 next week, the old beer cellar roof, that'll bring the rain on.

Yes! Everything is bone dry. Lawns brown, borders of dust. Overnight rain, preferably.

I love this weather at the moment and hope that it carries on for a few more weeks yet. After the last couple of wet summers and long winters it is lovely at last to be able to sit outside with family and friends and really enjoy the garden and their company:gnthb:

I even managed to get Mr K to sit outside for a few hours this afternoon instaed of being stuck indoors with his reading book.As I type this post it is still pleasant enough to be outside in shorts and T.Shirt although there is a breeze building, it is still very pleasant and on our village walk earlier there were loads of families outside in their gardens enjoying the day:D

Yep, we had an appalling winter and last summer was fairly miserable...so lets just enjoy the balmy weather while it lasts.

I did some planting today, and the border soil was just like dust. We desperately need rain here.

However the plants in pots are loving it. They have the advantage of both the heat, and the water as I water them each night.

    Rain at night please. :gnthb:

Yesterday was so hot here that none of the neighbours were in their gardens and we were flaked out indoors.

We only went out to water the greenhouse and pots which takes an hour every time. Mrs shiney did it one time and I did it the next time. They needed a third watering in the late evening - Mrs shiney did that :hehe:.

It's going to be another hot one today and we want to visit some open gardens. We'll get there as early as possible and take our umbrellas to keep the sun off. We won't linger too long in each one and then get back home to cool off. :thumb:

I quite like sunny weather but this is too hot to even sit out in. Oscar the cat is not at all happy with it.

Even my cat's fed up with it, Shiney, and he's the ultimate sun and heat lover. He was flaked out in a patch of catmint yesterday (he's an addict - he strips the stems and licks the juice) when a small bird came along and practically flew into him. He looked up briefly, but then thought 'nah ... can't be ar**ed.' Or maybe he assumed he was hallucinating.
