Anything that can be planted now?

    in the spring I'm going to build a raised area to start growing veg but is there anything simple I can start now with?

    Poundstretchers had packets of seeds for 50p so I bought one of each

    Brussels sprouts
    Peas
    Carrots
    Tomatoes

    Going out to garden centres etc on Saturday so could pick up others

      I agree with WeeTam's list also it's the last chance to sow Spring Greens - they are a very hardy cabbage, good varieties are Spring Hero and Offenham 2

              Can you over winter onions @WeeTam? Do you mean sets or seed grown? Under cover ie greenhouse/poly tunnel or outside? I know you live in Scotland too so interested in you experience having a similar climate. I certainly grow garlic outside planting cloves any time soon but have never thought of trying onions as well. My efforts at growing onions has not been the best! This year was better due to the scorching summer but often they are not much cop.
