    Well .... It's happened again :(

Duncan (the chap undertaking the migration, and who has been keeping you informed via the messages on the GC main 'downtime' page) , had completed around 82% of the necessary work needed to migrate to the new software, and our Hossts, the lovely Titan ( ) have decided to reset some increased values back to their defaults, this being the case, after more than a day doing the migrate ......... It crashed :( .

To say I am a little disappointd is an understatement, as this is costing me for Duncans time, which doesn't make me too impressed, especially as 82% was complete.

He will be commencing more migration on Monday, which should be a lot quicker, as he will drain GC onto his own server, and do the changes at his end.

Again apologies for the downtime, Titan gave no notice of the increase in values that they were giving Duncan, hence, GC went offline at the drop of the hat, because we had a 24 hour window to get it completed, which obviously stretched.

Next time (3rd time lucky), we should be in a new skin when the switch on happens.

    Nathan.

Much sympathy. I'm having struggles with a host that changed all their passwords without warning and completely messed up a forum where I'm tech admin (but not the site owner, who seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth). It doesn't seem to occur to them that we need some consideration!

I've broached the subject of letting members support the site a few times, but Nathan - bless his cotton socks - is determined to keep this a free site for you all.

    What a heart!
