Another daft question but how can I tell if my apples are ready to pick? 2yr old tree and only 9 apples so don't want to waste any 20190827_121145.jpg 20190827_121201.jpg !

What variety is it? It’s always an exciting time it’s a new apple tree.

A gentle twist and if it comes away easily, it’s probably ready. Another indication is if the pips are dark brown, but that entails cutting one in two. And of course biting into one is the ultimate test!

@Redwing Im embarrassed to admit that the variety has gone clean out my head (happens more and more these days!) It flesh is quite white with a tinge of pink and has quite a perfumey scent and flavour. If somebody said the name I would recognise it (I think)
