Apple spots

What’s been eating my apples? The spots have been there for ages, today I decided to investigate. Little tunnels full of brown sticky grainy stuff, but no residents

 

Codling Moth caterpillars Codling moth/RHS Gardening Affected ones are often the first to fall as they normally ripen before the others (but I see yours have white pips).

 

Thank you Any idea what the winter wash contains? Sure they should have to tell you this stuff on the webpage...

 

Thanks, white pips = not ripe? None of the apples are ripe yet, but these seemed about the same size apart from one.
