This Katy fan was planted last September and seems to have survived the heavy frost ok. Just a couple of things we've noticed though...

There's no leaf growth at all at the base of the branches.

The leaves are nearly all curled up. I've watered it really well too but the leaves still seem not to want to flatten out.

Any thoughts and advice welcome please.

Looks OK to me, dont overwater, nothing much likes being permanently soaked.

Like Pete says, It's ok. Katy does that, ere, isn't there a book by that name ?

Shes just getting her roots established. I had to leave a mature katy in my last garden, which was a pity as i had seeded her with mistletoe, which was doing fine.bet the new owners don't appreciate it
