    Hi All

Kristen wants info about family apple trees but rather than jump a thread thought I would start a new one

Here my link and I am still looking as I had a contact for a fruit farm that would graft what you wanted on a apple tree I will carry on looking but I hope you enjoy this Welsh Fruit Farm and the realy good work they do in promoting rare fruit trees

    Couldn't help noticing this one

I'd hate to be the bloke that said, "Yes, definately doesn't taste the same"

Excellent! Found someone to post my questions for me, as well as the answers, now !!

Great site :) What is it with names of fruits? Did they really think that "Pig Skin Apples" would sell well?

Calling an apple "Cox's Orange Pippin" is nearly as bad as calling a potato "Pink Fir Apple" ... no wonder that the French "Golden Delicious" sell by the bucket load, even though they have no flavour and a pappy flesh texture.

      I give up !!

They should call the next one "Llaaslaatlaa" - at least that looks vaguely Welsh ... (to put you out of your misery its "Look's like an apple, Smells ..., Tastes ...")

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've got loads of those, and LIKEs notifications that I am supposed to do something about and ... hang on a mo ... is it a competition?

I don't hand out badges to people in the pub with "I'm Kristen's mate" written on them ... so I will have to remain "Kristen No Mates" here :)

          Found these on my travels:

Family Apple Trees family fruit trees for sale to buy from OrangePippin UK

I think that might be quite promising, they might well be the sort of organisation who could grow a few on for me and let me have them in 2 or 3 year's time.

But I'll be blowed if I can find their address anywhere on their website

          Found this too:

Family Apple Trees Uk, Family Pear Trees Uk, Mixed Fruit Trees Uk, Family Garden Trees Uk,

although they appear to be well know as grafters :) I don't get the sense that they would do a one-off commissions. Can but ask though.

          We're all the same really.

          Gardening! Whats it all about?
We all have our likes, the little things we do and the way we do them,
Take me for instance, every morning coffee in hand i go walkies around the garden to see what natures changed or produced from yesterday,

That 'Oh look the daffs are poking through! (as they do every year)

But its those little things you did towards the end of the season and you have to wait some 6 month to see if what you did back then has worked!

I moved 2 miniture apple trees from one section of the garden to another,

Every morning im out there looking to see if any good signs have appeared yet!

After more years than i sometimes like to admit ive been gardening,
Im still holding my breath at what ive planted and has it worked or not.

But it's the one hobby ive kept up and really pleased i took up all those years ago.:)

That's spot on that is. I too would like to take a stroll round my garden (with my dogs) in the morning, but the "garden" currently varies between building-site and barely-built, and the bits of it that are worth strolling round have chickens and water fowl, and the dogs aren't allowed in there - so the dogs, and I, have got to wait a few years before we can stroll around our own patch.

I've posted this in the "tree forums"
Maybe should of posted it here. Anyway.

I have a very young apple tree, roughly 3-4ft. I bought it last year and it produced very little blossom. The frost came and knocked the blossom off and leaves.
              I would like to know.
When should I start seeing signs of blossom and foilage?

Nah, IMHO you are better off with your new thread - people won't necessarily read an old thread, and the two will just get mixed up :)

For anyone landing here ArticFox's question is here:
