    Which way is best to store apples ie: stalk up or stalk down?

      Agree with Zigs plus I wrapped each one in a square of newspaper (can't remember why I did that now though :dunno: :heehee: )

      Which variety are you storing @Jiffy ?

            We get the shallow cardboard boxes supermarkets get their fruit in, plus grab the shaped expanded polystyrene inserts (apples and pears [1]) that fit in them and will keep the fruits apart, stack the boxes somewhere cool and check every few weeks for any going off.

            [1] Pears for storage are picked at a slightly under ripe stage.

              He must have had something in mind, there were thousands of them :doh:

              Mum and I cleared them all out while he was at work one day and he stopped doing it :phew:

                I've got an old fridge in the garage, use it for storing apples or onions late in the following spring.
