I have grown an apricot plant from a stone, it is almost 3 years old now and seems very healthy, but I've read on other sites that 3 year old trees can produce a good amount of fruit. Mine is only about 8 inches tall and a long way off bearing fruit. I keep it in a pot in the greenhouse, but from what I've read I should be planting it outside as they are frost hardy and quite rigourous, requiring a good route run. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Eggy and welcome to the site. I would have thought that after 3 years your Apricot should be a bit bigger than 8" tall. What size pot do you have it in?

My late father grew an apricot (or was it a peach?) tree from a stone, and then planted it in a large greenhouse in the soil. It produced the most juicy apricots (or peaches) and he got quite a crop every year
I remember they were just lovely to eat :)

Thanks for the advice, it's now outside in a 6 inch pot, I'll let you know how it gets on.
