Given that north of Hadrian's wall, Spring may arrive up to 4 weeks later than south of the Watford Gap, can't we have a handicap system that allows "us up 'ere" to submit pics for the April competition up to the end of May?

(Only kidding. Once the snow and ice clear we'll probably find something poking up through the slush) :D

Good theme Palustris - flora or fauna there's bound to be something "newly emerged"

Given the wonderful examples of lateral thinking shown in some of the other photo competitions on here, I thought that there was plenty of scope in the title. Why be bound by restrictions of plants and animals?

Congrats on winning the March comp and a great theme for April Palustris!

There's a chilly breeze outside here today but at least it's dry and sunny for a change so I'm sure some of our hardier denizens will be emerging regardless of the temperature. ;)

Bubbly that's a baby Triffid. The hole is the air hole where the ambulant ones hibernate. Watch out next time you go for a walk... :D

As I expected (though I didn't have the camera with me) A bit of sunshine and the first bumble bees were buzzing and a very brave peacock butterfly came out of hibernation this afternoon. I even took the wooly hat and jumper off while digging through a border!

So many buds too, spring is about to explode :D
