Aquatic lawnmower!

Just thought i would share a freak event which happened to me last week (it has taken me this long to get over the shock). Having finished cutting my grass on my trusty ride-on lawnmower, i was sorting grasss cuttings on the compost heap when i heard a suddent rusling in the trees at the bottom of my garden. I looked around to discover that my lawnmover had disappeared. The noise i heard was the mower trundling past a tree and it ended up in the river at the bottom of the garden!
Two strong neighbours helped me get it out (before my husband came home) and it was not damaged at all as thankfully it hit mud and not stones in the river. It also started first time, so i could drive it back to the garage.
Needless to say, i will always check the handbrake from now on!

That was lucky. Took me an hour to start my van when I got stuck in the floods.
