Can I just put a load directly in my pond and grow plants in it? Is there a certain way you have to use it etc etc? (No fishes in the pond)

Depends what you want to grow in it. You will have more control if you put it in baskets. Silt will collect in the pond anyway so removing that will be more difficult if you wish to leave the aquatic soil there.

won't do any harm. I went for the totally natural look and threw in 2 large bags of aquatic compost and a bag of fine gravel.Based on most ponds / streams whatever have some sort of silt bottom. The oxygenators loved it and it provides shelter for some of the smaller bottom dwelling creatures while waiting on the pond to develop a silt base from dead leaves etc.
