Its on the news that the olympic footy has started, yet the opening ceremony hasn't happened yet.

Seem like years of hype, just for it to start without people even realising.

Apparently they've started with the women's football Clueless and the powers that be have messed up already...........They've flown the South Korean flag for the North Korean womens match. That's a big OOPS! It has been changed though and apologies made. :)

That is correct, it was in Wales this afternoon.

Also, all the Olympic lanes are only for Olympic use, because all the road signs say so. That is unless there is an electronic message sign that says you can use the Olympic lane, but be careful, being electronic they can change them instantly, to which TFL* said, there will be a short grace period to get out of the lane if we change it, but you wont know because you wont see the sign.

        Hampden park holds fiftythousand supporters
They Sold 6000 tickets, Then gave 30,000 away for this match and all others
12000 turned up for the match (they said between 10k and 15k)
Match USA the top Ladies team in the world V France

When ticket sales had slumped, they had the great idea
to avoid embarrasment of no one there, they would fill
        the stadium with Kids

Great idea only they gave the tickets to the schools, two
weeks after all the kids had broken up for the summer holidays :-)

Team GB were kicking off at 5pm at Old Trafford, so of course I had to come home and work after lunch so as to avoid the crowds/traffic as it's close to where I work. Any excuse eh?

Yeah I know what you mean.
The women's game is slow and the men's game is uninteresting and full of drama queens.
Could never understand why, in a game where you are supposed to score goals they make it so ridiculously difficult to do so.

22 men (or women) fighting over one ball, when they each get paid more than enough to be able to afford one each.

Football should not be in the Olympics, there are enough competitions for football without it being on this as well. But that is by the by, The London olympic committee were so desperate to get a GB football team together despite opposition from the Irish Scots and welsh FA's. All I would like to add is, well done Senegal. :hapydancsmil:

In answer to the question ... yes, the Olympics have started and no - they haven't had the opening ceremony just yet, but it's no different from HMQ opening a hospital - it's been in use for some time but an 'Official Opening' often takes place some time later.

Just as a BTW - it's the closing ceremony I'm particularly looking forward to :hapydancsmil:
