I had no where to grow Beetroot and an old packet of seeds, so I sowed them in a 3'x6" planter.
Once they sprouted I pinched out a couple of dozen and replanted them in 2 18" diameter plastic planters.
I now have 2 dozen healthy plants growing, and hundreds still in the original planter fighting for space.
I'm hopeful of a glut of baby beetroot in a few weeks - Vinegar is at the ready for those unable to use immediately in Salads.

Just give them enough room/time to grow and you'll have your harvest.

Sorry it's really hard to tell from your pics what the scale is but I'd say - just think of how big you want them to grow and allow 1-2 cm between them. They are still very young aren't they, so give them a few weeks to grow on so you can choose the strongest ones, keep those and pluck out the rest. Best of luck and hope you'll be enjoying your salads soon enough.

Russian beetroot salad recipe: 2-3 boiled beetroot, 1/2-1 clove garlic (start with smaller quantity then add to taste), mayo to serve. Optional: 2-4 tsp grated walnuts, finely chopped fresh herbs (any combination of: chives, dill, coriander, parsley). Preparation: coarsely grate beetroot (think cheese shavings on baked potato), finely grate or chop garlic, mix all ingredients, add mayo to taste. Ta da!

If you want the ukrainian cabbage and beetroot soup recipe (borshch) give me a shout :stirpot:

It's a bit diffiuclt to see Ashlee from your photo. Are we looking at the seedlings or the seed (or whatever it is) that is sprinkled on top of the soil? If it's the seedlings then I'd say that was OK.

Ashlee, unless you planted a variety such as Solo. Each of those
" seeds " you sowed is actually a cluster of seeds. So you only need to plant one at each station.:dbgrtmb:

use normal white cabbage, or even green
there's no such thing as ukrainian cabbage :) like carrots or potatoes, they're ubiquitous
