Are these edible?

Hi Everyone,

I've been growing some field beans as green manure to improve my heavy clay soil.

They have grown really well and have now flowered (I think I should have dug them into the soil before they flowered). The flowers are quite attractive - a smaller snap dragon flower shape but white and pink.

I was just wondering - are the beans edible? I'm tempted to let them grow, pick the beans for eating and then dig the pod less plants into the soil.
