    .Another visit to my favourite and nearby reserve. The Spring tide was very high so no waders around but 25 Spoonbills were huddled together.

    The surprise was the flocks of Fieldfares and Redwings feeding on the plentiful Rowan berries as they are not normally here this early.

      @strongylodon a bit off topic, but we were passing close to Wareham last month and saw a raptor that looked like a Marsh Harrier, but was so far off I couldn't get a positive ID. Are they about that area?

      Yes they are, they bred for the first time at Radipole RSPB in Weymouth four years ago and Lodmoor last year but they nested for the first time in Poole harbour this year and are frequently seen along Wareham Channel, Swineham Point and out to Middlebere Channel (all emptying into Poole harbour). Hen Harriers have been seen here too this Autumn.

      Not sure why my pics aren't the usual size.
