AROID PALM -trendy-

    before christmas a new leaf appeared and a new one has grown, cant believe that new leaves are appearing this time of year, anyone know anything about these palms, got it standing next to the radiator in the lounge

    Although I had some yellowing leaves, Rosa, I also have recently discovered a new stem.

    Ssshhhh ... I see some dust on Trendy! :D :D

    Its not really a palm rosa, its Zamiocalcus Zamiifolia, I think aroid fits the bill judging by the flowers, although mine hasn't flowered yet.
    I tend to keep mine a little on the dry side, I think they can rot easily.Good light helps but I think they will grow almost anywhere.
    I've grown a couple of small plants this year by taking leaf cuttings in a similar way to how you do african violets.

    Sorry, Pete, this plant is a "joke" with us since many months ago ... you must have missed the thread! :rolleyes:

    "We" call it the Trendy plant because it was "the" plant to have at the time ... I think Bananaman was the first with it, then Rosa, then me.

    I know I haven't and I don't think the other two have had flowers ... we're just trying to keep them alive ... mine is outside ... :eek:

    Sorry, not making fun of you, it's just a fun plant with us but obviously you missed it and any "serious" info you have about it, I'm sure we all want to know! [​IMG]

    very trendy pete, Its an aroid and thought they were palms wonder if we will get flowers on ours :D :D

    me too Rosa but I got so cheesed off with it and gave it away.now the person who has it informs me that it is A TRENDY PLANT.
