Well, not a day out really, more of a few hours. Since i joined the art group in aid of giving myself something i can do when i'm immobile and also a means to leave the house and attempt to combat my anxiety issues, i've had one meeting and enjoyed it, made some friends so i have security, and a large group of the society planned to meet at one of the members homes which had a looooot of land overlooking a gorgeous lake with huge old oak trees near an old castle.

It started tipping it down so we couldn't leave the comfort of her conservatory, but we did a bit of sketching there and i hopped out inbetween downpours to take photos of the land.

From where i was sat in the conservatory there was this bird feeder and it had a constant stream of various tits eating from it, but also we spotted several nuthatches and a woodpecker visiting! I missed the nuthatch and the woodpecker but i sat clicking away for 5 minutes trying to get a good photo of the tits on it showing their faces not just their bottoms, and only got two good ones out of about 40!

I adore this overgrown viney structure, but i dont think its complete without a peacock somehow.

One of the ladies elderly tibetan spaniels, i've been asked to a water colour painting of him in my style. I seem to be the only one there who cant do landscape paintings, but i seem to be the only one who CAN do drawings, characatures or actually anything with an outline!

Hmm, might have a go at one later, but i really wouldnt know where to start!

I think a flower beauty is 90% in how the light plays in it. The lights, the shadows, the projecteded shadows, and the reflections, the backlights. I think in the case of flowers, capturing light is even more important than capturing the anatomy. Of course the anatomy helps too, but one can start with simple flowers and work its way up. And dissecting flowers for study is socially more acceptable than dissecting pets or people.:D

I am not trying to talk you into flower painting, I just find it very relaxing myself. ;)
