I have a well established Arum Lilly which I would like to split. Can you tell me the best time to do this and how should it be done.

Hi Dan here's what I have found for you I do hope it helps.:gnthb:

'Divide in winter times or early spring when the arums are dormant. If new bulblets don't break away easily, it can be divided by cutting through the tubers like a potato, allowing for one or two buds to each portion. The new plants will not necessary bloom in this season, but will definitely in the next season'.

I'm sure others might be able to come up with some other helpful tips.

Let us know how you get on.:wink:Hel.xxx.

Yep... as they're a wee bit tender, wait until they are just about to break into growth in the spring.

With the mild wet weather we're having you could divide now. Give them plenty of muck. Mine grow like weeds once established and seem pretty tough! They might just put on leaf next year but you'll get a good show the next.
