we've got a an old mature wood not far away and loads of old rotten oak logs down the garden which we never ever disturb it ideal for all kinds of stuff we even see an ocassional adder and one or two grass snakes trouble is the wildlife garden and our chickens seem to be taking over the whole garden still it is worth it just to be privaliged enough to have all the different wildlife living here just wish the local badgers would pay a visit next project maybe? lol

    Hi Matt.

It's been years since I've seen stag beetles so thanks for posting the pictures.

Fingers crossed my feeble wood pile attracts some stag beetles.

    Ant.

    Hey Great Stag Beetles !

My wood pile is only just over a year old - not noticed any of these guys - Don't they spend years in wood before emerging?

    Great Photo :)
