hi all, im living in a nightmare here almost like a prison, council have found asbestos above my windows and they as you can see have put plastic in front of my windows to front of property and they have these massive boards right along, cant see a thing, were the sky dish is in front of boards thats were my lounge is.
the workers are dressed in white overalls and wearing masks like what you would see in the war days black ones.
heres pics hehe what a way to live

Almost happened to us a couple of years ago. We were having a ceiling replaced and if they'd found a certain level of asbestos in the artex (early 80's build when they did things like that) the house would have had to be sealed off and we move out until work was completed. Fortunately the levels of asbestos were low enough not to have to!

Rosa, if its any consolation, I think everyone draws the short straw at one point or another, and has a string of bad luck, but as you've had your go, I reckon things will turn out ok pretty soon for you.

Rosa, I'm truly sorry to learn that you are being put through the grinder at the moment. My house was rebuilt some years ago, and it was done during November to March. We had to endure one particularly cold January night where the temperatures dropped to minus twenty-six. All there was between us and the outside world, was the thickness of a sheet of plasterboard. It was a living hell that I'll never forget. You take care, it'll all be over soon, I'm sure.

One invisable fibre from the wrong type on asbestos is all it takes rosa. So what you are experiancing is in no way other the top..
Just be glad its being sorted now and not when the condition of the asbestos is such that its a real threat.

My house contains asbestos and has done so since 1947.

The whole asbestos "thing" is overdone and there is lots of it around.
Its only because of recent hysteria that everyone goes crazy at the sound of the word "asbestos".

Its contained in many buildings and will be for a very long time yet, so as someone who has sawn the stuff and even sanded it in th1970, I'm not that bothered.

The building types tend to be less of a problem, but because its "asbestos" it comes under the regs.

I'm no expert music, but when you take into account how much asbestos is still locked up in buildings, its a joke.
Not may buildings from the 60s and 70s contain no asbestos.

As to corrugated asbestos roofing, it everywhere.

Thats why I say its hysteria.

So called blue asbestos does seem to be the real problem, but as I say, I'm no expert.
Asbestos cement sheeting seems to be a different product.
