You should not panic about asbestos ... I lived in a house made solely from asbestos for 15 years and that was a long time ago.
Don't try to break it up or saw it which will release the small fibres which are dangerous for the lungs. In any event slight exposure is probably not serious anyway

Not an expert on the subject by any means but I have come in contact with asbestos sheeting over the years.
As Whis4ey says its not something to panic about, my house still has asbestos soffits plus some inside, but if undisturbed its not a problem.
A while back I took out some sheeting from an old garage, I took it to the local tip where there is a special container for asbestos disposal.
as I understand it, its the asbestos that was used mainly for lagging that is the real problem, asbestos cement sheeting is not as dangerous.
Hope not anyway as we used to cut it on circular saws years ago.

Phone your councill and find out what their policy is, ours will take it for freebut only at one site in the region and details and vehicle reg must be phoned in before hand.

Wet the sheets before handling and wear a p3 mask. The soffits at home are asbestos and when I cut the hole for the fan i sprayed plumbers coolgel on prior to cutting with the holesaw, very little dust.

I remember wen I woked as a farm worker being asked to powerwash the roof above the milking parlour prior to it being coated with bitumen paint.

The pressure washer blasted off close to 1/4" of the top surface and left a white slurry across the floor. A good job I was off the next day when they brushed up the dry slurry and painted the roof!
