My Asian pear tree had large juicy fruits when it was younger. Since then it has grown leggy and it gets large numbers of fruits that never get larger than a golf ball and dont ripen. How should I prune the tree and has anyone any ideas on how to get the fruit to mature?

I have one Eusebius, but I grew mine from a pip some years ago, its not growing in a particually good spot, it flowers but no fruit.
My knowledge of the tree is pretty limited, but I dont think its very common in the UK.
I think its related to the usual pear that we grow, so would think similar treatment would suffice.
Is it possible that the tree was grafted and it has rooted above the graft?
Is it setting far too many fruit and might they need thinning?
Is it suffering drought conditions, or maybe need feeding?

thanks for response. I bought mine and I assume it is grafted. I get masses of flowers and since I planted one of those 3 species dwarf pears nearby I get loads of fruit. I think it is Williams that pollinates it from memory. maybe you could try that. As as the tree has got bigger the fruit has become smaller. I will try feeding and thinning. But I dont know when it is the best time to do it or when I should prune the tree.
