Solved Asking for ID for a friend

c A friend has asked me to identify the above. I have no idea so asking for help. The photo is not the best. The plant is situated in central Scotland so will be a bit behind plants England at this time of the year. It evidently has been flowering for ages. My immediate thought was Hellebore but the leaves are not right as far as I can see and the flowers are too upright.
Hope some clever soul can tell me what it is. Thanks. PS I only have 1 photo so no better ones to help.
