Hello We've had an aspidistra for years and it is now too big for the house. At the moment it is stuck in a summer house and creating new leaves like mad. We live in Merseyside...can I take it out of its pot and plant it in the garden. Please advise as I'd hate to do wrong by this old friend.

I seem to think they do have some hardiness, so worth a try, think a shady dampish spot that doesn't get too much frost might work.

You could try dividing it and potting a smaller piece up to keep indoors again.
