I am so proud of this that i just had to post a photo!! After starting off well the weather every weekend since has just been so bad we have not been able to do much. This weekend was so nice we finished it off. We put lights into the pergola beams and along the bottom of the deck and it looks really pretty when its lit up late at night. My long suffering hubby had bever done anything like this before and it was a big learning curve. There's still lots to do around it but was so pleased with it so far just had to show off a bit!

Doesn't look like the work of a lazy gardener/gardeners to me, looks like a lot of time and effort was involved. [IMG]

Very well done. I like the shape and the way you have put the posts of the pergola in [IMG] Prob a daft question but do the posts go all the way through? [IMG]

Thanks everyone! it was hard work (my husband will testify to this) but if you could have seen it before its a hundred tmes better. The previous slabs had been down for 16 years and they had never been laid just put down and were very higgledy piggeldy! Marge- yes the posts go down about 2 foot. We built the pergola back in Easter and narrowly missed going into some electric cables which were only 12 inches underground! Once we got our heads round what we were doind it was fairly straighforward. It did mean my husband could go out and buy some new tools though. Tools to him are like shoes to me !Can't get enough
