I realise to all those photographic geniuses out there this is nothing special but I've been trying to do this for a while, but its been too dark, what with the weather and all.
    A small waterfall.

And then with a longer exposure.

Nicely done Pete, I prefer the first one, the water leads your eye through the pic; as we normally read from left to right, we tend to "read" pictures the same way.
[nitpick mode on]The second pic I find the short piece of pipe in the foreground a bit of a distraction and the post(?) which just shows top left of centre makes me think "is it a post or the base of a small tree or bush?": again a minor distraction.[/nitpick mode off] ;)

Mike, thanks for the nitpick mode, I see what you are saying. I've not cropped them or anything else, that is how they came out the camera. I was really trying to get the water effect that I had seen elswhere.
I was balancing in a tricky position to get the shot, not life threatning, but slippery.
The first is more natural Woo, but that was taken with the camera on auto,.... I'm trying to progress from there. :D
Pal, I dont know mate. [IMG]

Pal, can you change the aperture and/or shutter speed on your camera? If so then you should be able to do it.

If a manufacturer wants something kept secret they put it in the instruction manual. Failing that they might write it on the box.

When working at the 'bleeding edge' of technology, if all else fails, read the 'destructions' [IMG] :D

Pal - you should be able to achieve shots like this on your kodak 360. if you press the menu button on the back, and scroll down, there is a symbol LT and probably 'none' next to it.(its 11th on the list) highlight this and you can set a long time exposure, up to 8 seconds. this will give you the 'soft water' effect. you will need to play about with it, trying diferent shutter times, to get a good result. you will almost definately need to under compensate the exposure. this is done in the same menu,(2nd on list). again highlight it and scroll down to minus numbers. you may need to go as low as -2.

set your camera on a tripod or something similar, and use the 2 sec timer to avoid camera shake.

now is the fun bit! take lots of photos, adjusting the exposure time (usually 2-4 secs is enough)and/or exposure compensation until you get it just right!

Who needs instruction books when you've got gardeners corner!!!! :D :D

almost forgot, try to find a small waterfall that isn't flowing in torrents, and also 1 that is in shade, ideally under trees etc. it will give a better effect by allowing a long shutter time without becoming over exposed on the white water.
