After a very late start to the season, because of the cold, our runnerbean plants have started to get going. Lack of rainfall hasn't helped but using a sprinkler has now brought them on quickly.

The plants are climbing very quickly and some have reached 12ft already. During this hot spell the flowers have come out and so have the bees.

And our first tiny beans are showing. :dancy:

It, also, looked as though the courgettes would never get started but they flowered at the weekend and are now doing very well.

Three of the plants are doing well and the rest aren't doing much. I hope they will take a note of the ones that are doing well! :heehee:

That's great, Harry and Jenny, but don't forget to give them a very heavy watering two or three times per week (in this hot weather) and not a light watering each day. :blue thumb:

Everything is really starting to move now at long last. We started picking courgettes about 10 days ago along with a few cucumbers, tomatoes are just ripening (we have had one or two), flowers now on my runner beans no pods yet.
