Well not quite 50' may be, but probably not far off judging by the size of the mole hills that have appeared on the veggie patch.

Just wondered what to do? I have some garlic, onions and spring cabbage which are now nicely unearthed having been shoved up from underneath. I also have asparagus crowns which have recently gone in. The mole has appeared from nowhere (well I suppose by the very nature of moles they would!!) but three nice mounds overnight in one half of the plot so is he/she just seeking out worms or can I expect to see plants disappearing before my eyes into the ground Bugs Bunny Styley?

I thought garlic was supposed to be a natural deterrent!

Any humane ways of scaring into next door?:WINK1:

Or shall I just leave him to move on when he is ready??

    Many thanks

    MrM

    Hey MrM,

Hope you've had a good Christmas.

Got loads of Moles next to West Bay Plot, not had any trouble from them with regard to veg, they make the occasional advanced raid into the plot but as as far as I know, they only eat Worms.

I've caught them before by taking a plug out of a new run, waiting for them to investigate the change in air pressure, then picking them up & putting into a metal bucket (keep your fingers away from the business end)

You can then re locate them to safe havens such as Scheduled Ancient Monuments where they can dig up the Archaeology without having to apply for permission.:WINK1::heehee:

Put some mothballs/camphorballs down the runs. Don`t worry, they won`t eat your veg, unless they are throwing a dinner party.:loll::loll::loll::dbgrtmb:
