aubretia seeds

I'm having trouble getting aubretia seeds to germinate. Twice I have tried in the greenhouse and they have not germinated possibly because its too cold. Iam going to try them indoors on damp paper but I have never done it this way before. How is it done and how is the paper kept moist without disturbing the seeds.

I sometimes do this too. Its easy just soak the seeds in water for a few hours then place them in a folded damp towel in a dark cool place. Within a few days the seeds should sprout little tap roots then you can transplant into soil with the tap root facing down
some people like to wedge the seeds inbetween something vertical so all the tap roots grow down but i dont think thats essential myself.

 

I thought aubretia need light to germinate

Just leave the towel open then on a window ledge
