If you could please vote for your favourite pictures, and award a 1st 2nd and 3rd place(don't vote for your own ;) ), and give a short explanation why you chose it.

This thread will be 'Locked' in 3 days time, so get your votes in.

    thanks

    Nathan.

I loved looking at all the pictures and found it very difficult to choose but here goes.
    1. Nik's dragonfly (because they are so difficult to capture)
    2. Pete 2255's butterfly (because they are difficult to capture and I loved the great colours)
    3. Steve B's squirrel (it's so cute!)

1st Charlies "2nd hover fly on petunia". Printed on A4 and laminated, it would make another wonderful placemat on the BBQ table. :D Cheesy I know.

2nd Pete2255s "Frog". It looks so damp it sets my shoulder off.

3rd Marleys "This was on my hebe". What big eyes its got.

Not easy as there are so many of insects on flowers, but I suppose thats to be expected. Wish someone might have come up with a badger or something a bit less common. Not complaining mind :D
for me 1st. Steve b, squirrel, looks almost real. :D
2nd.Nik, dragonfly pic no 3 very clear pic. ;) of a very mobile subject.
3rd.Marley Farley, bee/hoverfly on hebe you can almost makeout its tongue, dipping into the flowers.
I think thats my final choice  :D

Very difficult and am torn between some of them but for me:

    1. Pete2295 toad - the detail and sharpness of the pictures was tremendous - even to the brightness of eye

    2. Charlies hoverfly (2nd one I think) - again the detail on the insect was sharp and the background petunia petal shading was lovely.

    3. Pete2295 peacock - again for the clarity of the insect and I know only too well how difficult it can be to get a shot with the wings open

Twas tough, as there were some great and some unusual pictures. If this is the standard for August -god help us all in September :D ,

    enjoyed looking at them...
1st has to be the dragonfly, I just love dragon flys, good clear photos and not easy to capture.
2nd webmasters spider, just sitting there waiting to pounce on its dinner hanging onto its fine line web!
3rd marley`s hoverfly, stunning close up shot.
