    :thumbsup: When my very old Aunt in California died last year she was 97, I was sent all her cook books.. They are fascinating I can tell you... She used to make this recipe every week nearly right up till her last few years of her life, so I thought I would share it with you as it is........! :yummy: :yummy:

    Oh wow, I've just put a boiled fruit cake in the oven (using up some cold coffee).
    That looks delish!

    I notice yours does not have any eggs in the recipe; does it rely soley on the baking powder for a rise? :noidea:

    Ooh sounds yummy, yes mine is eggless as it is an old depression recipe of Aunt Barb's so relis on baking poweder & it is a very light mixture for it too... :biggrin:

      Yes means you can pretty much always do one of these.. Have bean known to make one & serve it hot with custard for a pudding in the winter.. ;)
