Good chance of seing an aurora tonight for anyone in Scotland north of the Forth/Clyde valley and possibly even into Northern England and Belfast. The weather though is really dreadfull but it looks as if this event may last into tomorrow night when skies should be clearer.

    Current situation:

    Geophysical Institute Auroral Forcast

The green line to the south is about the limit where you may see some activity low on the horizon.

It was still raining here so I took off to try and find a rain shadow - ended up just North of Aberdeen, got back at 6.00am (OK - I'm a nutter :D )

I've been listening for auroral reflections from a beacon in Sweden on and off and apart from a few very brief and weak signals yesterday have heard nowt.

Rosa auroras can be seen as far south as the Scilly isles it depends on the size of the suns geomagnetic storms and cloud cover on the night they hit
