This year i had allot of red currents on my bush and decided to make jam, which i have never done before and it went OK except i couldn't get any of the jam i tested to set! (i thought currants had loads of pectin?) so i tried to add lemon juice but it still didnt work so in the end i had to reach for the gelatin:D i do hope it sets!:( but i suppose if not it will make excellent pancake sauce:cool: so my question is can you get machines to do this for you? you know like bread makers but for jam...lol

Looks interesting Dizi though if I buy one more gadget for the kitchen I think my husband will kick me out!! lol

I also really don't mind the stirring of jams. It's only marmalade that takes forever.

My bread maker (£25 from Argos) makes jam :) I'm yet to try it, but it gives you the instructions etc so it should work out pretty well.
