Automatic watering system - recommendations?

Has anyone made bought or used one of these - while I don't mind watering the garden my Hebe's didn't flower and I think they were too dry so I think i'm not doing it enough.

So I was thinking of an automatic system what's available - how much - how does it work, what were your results - do you water your lawn as well, does that help?

 

I ordered myself this http://www.garden4less.co.uk/hozelock-automatic-watering-kit-deluxe-20.asp and a couple more sprinklers so I'll see how that goes....

 

I have 2 systems.

1 for all the pots hanging baskets and tubs around the house front and back, works fine. When I want to feed I turn it off for a day (twice a day for 10 mins each watering).

2 Greenhouse and all the pots placed outside.

They are a mixture of different manufacturers but they both systems work very well.

Do you leave it watering all through the summer i.e. when it's raining as well I can imagine it's a pain to turn it off when it rains and remember (or forget) to turn it on again when it stops?
