Hi I planted a bare root autum bliss raspberry last autum and just this week I seen a what looked like rasberry leaves come up but it's not close to the base , is this a cane coming up from the roots our is it a chance seedling from the other rasberry 10m away our the bramble 20 meters away, it seems so far away from the cane but logic would say to be its beyond coincidence and it has to be the autum bliss, I will attach pics , thanks as always

I get shoots coming up from my raspberries several feet from where they were planted.
I got in a bit of a pickle a few years ago as I didn't realize how much they spread and shoot up from underground some distance from where they were planted.
I had early season, mid season and Autumn raspberries all mixed up!

I took a deep breath, pulled them all up and ordered new canes.
I put in a 60cm (I think) root barrier all around them - so now I know the autumn raspbs cannot escape and come up amongst the others which are pruned differently.
    They've not strayed since.

But I'd guess your shoot being quite close to where you planted the cane is Autumn Bliss

I'd leave it as pete8 says ot is likely to be a new A Bliss. If it comes up thornless then keep it, thorns means a rogue bramble. A Bliss should be sending up new canes for this year's fruiting although bare root will take a year or two to settle in.
