    A beautiful day at the Abbey.
    Nearly November,18 degrees, some sunshine, no wind ,paradise.

                      We go to Anglesey every year for a short holiday. Why have we not found this lovely place, I thought ?
                      Because it is in Cambridgshire ! Had to Google to find it . Maybe one day we can visit..

                        @HarryS If you're going to come that distance to Anglesey Abbey, a regular haunt of ours (am I allowed to use that term at this time of year?), you want to time it when they have the open gardens at Lode. Lode is the village alongside the Abbey so there's virtually no extra travelling (a mile). They're usually listed in the Yellow Book.


                        One of the gardens that is usually open is that of Richard Ayres MBE (for services to gardening). He was head gardener at the Abbey, following in the footsteps of his father - and his son now works there. Richard's garden is not large but a sight to behold
