    The autumn planted Garlic is in very big pots in my greenhouse and looking great. I intend to put the big pots outside once things have warmed up as still really quite cold here due to the flaming harr (mist caused when you have high pressure which you get on the east coast of Scotland in particular,while the west has been boiling hot for the last few days ....boo).

    Anyway my question is should I give the Garlic a feed of something like Growmore or Phostogen? The pots were filled with pretty rich soil from the greenhouse which had previously had Tomatoes growing in it, plus a bit of mare's best.

    I read that Garlic don't like acid soils? Mine is pretty acid so maybe I should feed some Growmore to reduce the ph? ATM all looks extremely healthy with lots of lush top growth, maybe too much leaf growth and not enough bulb activity? I haven't dared had a look see if the cloves planted have increased or not. I'll be livid if all I get is luxury leaves and b all cloves!

    @silu They are probably all right at the moment but will certainly appreciate a feed later on in the season.
    Just now they will be making a lot of top growth, can reach c3ft, then the bulbs will form later.

    Thank you @NigelJ. Obviously where I live we're about a month behind in the season in comparison to you even with an unheated greenhouse. Shall I give them a feed when I put the pots outside in roughly the middle of May? Also Phostrogen or Growmore or Chepak tomato feed? (forgot I have loads of the 3rd option as well as the 1st 2. Glad to know lots of top growth is ok. Mine now have leaves which are about 18 inches tall. Thanks for your help.

    @silu
    Yours are ahead of mine then, the current cold winds have slowed them right down.
    I would feed when you put them out and Phostrogen would be my preference of the three.

    Thank you very much @NigelJ . Agree there is a biting wind here too but mine are quite cosy in the greenhouse atm. They'll get turfed out when I need the space for my Toms so no doubt will take a poor view of that:).
