hi all, we're new to this site, and find it a great place to visit, but could anyone help us with free seeds, cuttings etc that could give our garden some autumn / winter colour or interest. it's a garden that has been neglected.

    anything would be greatly apreciated

    thanks in advance

Hello Michael and Phil, welcome, I am pretty new here myself.
It's a difficult time to help with Autumn flowering plants as they are still flowering - or about to. So no seeds yet either.
I usually divide clumps of Autumn flowering plants in spring, if you remind me about March time and send your address I will send you what I can. I have things like various Asters, yellow Crocosmia (both flowering), Schizostylis, red & pink and Sedum Spectabilis (both just coming into flower). Maybe others can help with something more useful to you right now. Good luck.

Michele and Phil - are you talking about wanting them for next Autumn? It is difficult to transfer anything for autumn or winter colour right now - but this is a great time to do some digging and designing to begin to sort out your garden for next year. Can you bear to look past this season and instead look to the years ahead? Why not start a thread in the beginners section or general section asking for lay out ideas? I think you'll find it very rewarding.
