I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but was wondering if anyone can give me ideas for autumn/winter baskets.

I loved having beautiful baskets during the summer (!) but now these are starting to die off and I was wondering if I could have an autumn/winter version? What flowers could I use?

    Hi Louicopp,

I use Violas and Pansies for mine. Most garden centres are now selling them. I'm sure there will be others with different plants along in a while.

I like to plant heucheras in my baskets to.

Heathers are nice to and plant dwarf spring bulbs and by spring your basket will be in full bloom.

Pansies and violas are always ideal with their lovely cheerful colours - try adding to them with a mix of the following - Ajuga Reptans, green trailing ivy, Cyclamen and Lysimachia nummularia.

Thank you so much for your ideas.....I might do half for autumn/winter and then some spring ones too. I love the idea of trailing ivy too.

The heucheras is an interesting idea too. Would you mix it with anything or just have that in the basket?
